Giganotosaurus lived 97 million years ago in what is now Argentina. At the time the area had braided river system, and the local plants would have included conifers, cycads, ferns, horsetails, ginkgoes, and a few very primitive flowering plants. Other dinosaurs that shared this habitat include the sauropods (giant, long necked herbivores) Limaysaurus, Nopcsaspondylus, and Andesaurus, and these may have been prey animals for Giganotosaurus. There were also iguanodonts, relatives of Iguanodon, that definitely would have been prey for the Giganotosaurus. Other predatory dinosaurs that lived here include Ekrixinatosaurus, a 33 to 36 foot long abelisaur, Buitreraptor, a rooster sized dromaeosaur, Bicentenaria, an 8 to 10 foot long carnivore, and Alnashetri.
The Giganotosaurus is known as the (Giant Southern Lizard)
Giganotosaurus weighed an incredible 9 tons(18,000 pounds)
its not Tyrannosaurus REX it giganotosaurus .... in Argentina... Patagonian could not remember
Giganotosaurus would have had no natural predators as it was the apex predator of it's habitat in Argentina.
I think megalodon vs giganotosaurus will be released this summer.
1999
A complete skeleton of a Giganotosaurus has yet to be found. If and when it is found, the number of bones it has may be determined.
It lived exclusively in Argentina. At this time Argentina was surrounded by water as sea levels were much higher during this time.
Go to google and type giganotosaurus jpog download and find a website that has it.Good-bye
Giganotosaurus was 43 feet long and weighed somewhere between 6.5 and 14 tons. Allosaurus was 32 feet long maximum and weighed somewhere between 1 and 4.5 tons. Thus, Giganotosaurus was far larger, and thus the only hope for an Allosaurus fighting a Giganotosaurus would be to flee. Note that Allosaurus never would have encountered Giganotosaurus, as the former died out about 53 million years before the latter evolved, and they didn't even live on the same continents.
