That's a really good question; one to which nobody knows the sure answer. Probably longnecks didn't sleep very much because they had to eat pretty much all the time, but they surely took naps some of the time.

They probably slept standing up, like elephants, although when really tired they might have knelt on their knees. They certainly did not sleep on their sides of backs as it would have been too difficult to get up.

What did they do with those long necks? They MAY have rested their heads on the ground, but it's more likely that they used raised land or vegetation to prop their noggins up. Since they almost certainly lived in herds, it's possible they laid their heads on each other, some snoozing while their herdfellows kept watch.
