Well its quit simple considering Spinosaurus means "Spined lizard" a.k.a the sail coming out of its back. its sail is made from huge pillers or spines jutting out of its back with skin ataching its spines together to form a sail. Kinda obvious...no offence... hope it helped :)
Spinosaurus means "spine lizard," referring to the long spines it has on its backbones. The spines were the support structures of the sail on its back. The purpose of the sail is unknown, but it may have been for display of for thermoregulation.
Spinosaurus was about 17-20 feet, although including the sail it would be 20-25 feet.
Sail the spinosaurus is my fan made dinosaur sonic character. hes is redish brown and has two horns on his head and a small spin on his back. he was made from DNA of sonic and bones of a spinosaurus by the doc. when he told sail do kill sonic sail failed and became part of the team. he is secretly in love with Amy rose. and he has the ability to blow fire when his spine turns ruby red,and ice when his spine is sapphire blue, lightning when sun yellow, and is able to use his tail as a weapon
No, some other dinosaurs also had sails. One was Irritator, a relative of Spinosaurus, which had a similar, but smaller, sail. Another was Hypacrosaurus, which was a quadrupedal herbivore that had very high spines on its back. One animal commonly referred to as a dinosaur, Dimetrodon, was not a dinosaur, but it was a prehistoric reptile with a sail on its back.
A couple of Spinosaurus's special adaptations include its enormous size, its specialized teeth and jaws, and its large sail. Spinosaurus were 49 feet long and weighed at least 4.4 to 10 tons, making them one of the largest meat eating dinosaurs ever and thus they were formidable to any other contemporary dinosaurs. Their long jaws filled with interlocking teeth were designed to be effective at catching the fish that swam in the swamps where Spinosaurus lived, making them one of the few known piscivorous, or fish eating, dinosaurs. Although the sail's use is unknown, it clearly was useful for something. Some guesses at the purpose of the sail include cooling the Spinosaurus on hot days, absorbing sun rays to warm the Spinosaurus, or as a display to attract mates or intimidate rivals.
A sailed back dinosaur can be a Spinosaurus,Dimetrodon,Ouranosaurus, and more.
At Shoulder: about 17 ft Sail: 5 ft Total: 21 ft
The spinosauraus was arguably bigger than the T Rex. The sail on its back would not be good because as soon as its sail hit the ground it would break its back and die. Spinosauraus was much larger than the gigantaraptor.
no. Spinosaurus was 18 meters (60 feet) long while baryonyx was only 10-12 meters (30-40 feet) long. Plus spinosaurus is the biggest carniverous dinosaur. Another huge difference is spinosaurus has a sail. they also lived at different times and places. Barypnyx lived in England while spino lives in Egypt and other North African areas
The Spinosaurus is often considered the second strongest dinosaur after the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It had a large sail-like structure on its back and powerful jaws that allowed it to hunt effectively in water and on land.
Spinosaurus was a fish eater, or piscivore, and adaptations for fishing include its long, narrow jaws and non-serrated, interlocking teeth. Spinosaurus may have even had pressure sensors in their jaws for detecting fish in the water even if they couldn't see the fish. The enormous size of Spinosaurus, at 49 feet in length, would have made them intimidating to other dinosaurs. Of course the spectacular sail of Spinosaurus was an adaptation. It may have been used to either cool or heat the Spinosaurus, to attract mates, or to intimidate rivals.
