As a sea captain I know this one. Aim your fire extinguisher at the base of the flame. This will cool and choke off air to the fire. If the fire is an electrical fire you should first cut off the exectrical power. Then use the fire extinguisher. If the fire is an oil fire keep in mind that it can reflash. Try to use a foam fire extinguisher to choke off the air.
Water is good as it will cut off oxygen and cool the heat source. Powder and foam will smother to cut off oxygen. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) will cut off oxygen but blast of gas may spread ther fire by blowing light material such as paper causing it to set fire to other things. Don't use water on oil, or a chip pan fire.

When using a fire extinguisher, aim the steam or agent at the base of the fire. This is crucial because the base is where the fuel is located, and effectively targeting it helps to cut off the fire's source of combustion. Additionally, using a sweeping motion from side to side can help ensure that the fire is fully extinguished. Always maintain a safe distance while operating the extinguisher.
To safely cut open a diesel tank, first ensure it is completely empty and has been thoroughly cleaned to remove any residual fuel and vapors. Use a gas detector to confirm the absence of flammable fumes. Employ appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, goggles, and a fire-resistant suit. Utilize a cutting method that minimizes sparks, such as a plasma cutter, and have a fire extinguisher nearby for emergencies.
If the fire is small try to put it out using a fire extinguisher if you have one, provided you're certain it is the right sort of extinguisher for the type of fire. If you don't have an extinguisher, or don't have the right type, use thick, heavy rugs or anything else which will cut oxygen from the fire. Never use synthetic fabrics, and never, ever use cushions or pillows, which will be filled with materials that will not only burn - and feed the fire - but will give off toxic fumes as they burn. Try to remove all flammable items from around the fire. If you can see that the fire is becoming uncontrollable, call 911 and evacuate the house if needed.

To extinguish a fire involving paints or plastics, you should avoid using water, as it can spread the flames or cause hazardous reactions. Instead, use a Class B fire extinguisher, which is designed for flammable liquids, or a Class D extinguisher for combustible metals if applicable. If the fire is small and manageable, smother it with a fire blanket or sand to cut off its oxygen supply. Always prioritize safety and evacuate if the fire becomes uncontrollable.
Carbon dioxide is a common substance that is easy to produce and is completely non-flammable. It can be used to cut a fire off from the oxygen it needs. When stored under pressure it also has the advantage of coming out of a fire extinguisher cold, which robs a fire of heat as well.
Use the move Cut.
You need to cut it a little and to roast it on open fire. You must throw little salt on it when it is on the fire. You must not salt it before it was on the fire.
To remove fuel from a fire, you can try smothering the fire by covering it with a non-flammable material like a fire blanket or sand. Alternatively, you can use a fire extinguisher to spray a substance that will cut off the fire's oxygen supply. It is important to exercise caution and ensure your safety while attempting to remove fuel from a fire.
