First aid is the temporary treatment of injury or illness while waiting for medical aid. First aid ranges from cleaning a small wound and covering it with sticking plaster, to dealing with serious injuries at a major disaster. Its main aims are: to save life, prevent the casualty's condition from worsening, promote healing and recovery, and arrange for expert help at the earliest opportunity.

This guide offers valuable information anywhere you are outdoors to help in the event of head injuries, animal bites, strokes, poisoning, and much more. This book is available to be purchased through Amazon.
The first aid pocket guide typically includes information on basic first aid techniques for common injuries and emergencies, such as CPR, wound care, burns, fractures, and choking. It may also provide instructions on how to assess a situation, prioritize care, and contact emergency services.

A good introduction for this kind of project would be an overview about disasters like what is it and when does it occur or what type of disasters are there and also statistics of such events. You usually start with something general and building it all the way to being specific. It should be Deductive in nature.
I'd go to the American Red Cross for this sort of thing. They have a variety of first aid guides for the layman. They also have some disaster response and planning information as well. You can also get some great reference material from icbse.com http://www.icbse.com/2009/164/pocket-guide-aid-disaster-management-project.HTML
This will depend on the age of your students. Please resubmit with more data, and/or consider talking to the American Red Cross, who are often the sponsors of first aid training curriculum, and in fact offer first aid guidebooks as well.
