In the 2nd earthquake (Feb 22 2011) 184 were killed, many injured and thousands of homes destroyed. The central city was basically destroyed and many streets ruined. It was a very difficult time. Power, sewerage, phones, water etc were all cut off for upto 4 weeks. 10,000 houses need to be pulled down and rebuilt (ours is one of them). many jobs were lost also.
