Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, has faced various attacks throughout its history. Most notably, during World War II, it was heavily bombed and occupied by Nazi Germany in 1941. More recently, in 2022, the city came under siege during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which resulted in significant destruction and loss of life. However, Kiev has not been completely demolished in either instance, as it remains a resilient city with a rich history.
