There are no signs of being a witch. On any given day you have most likely encountered one or more people who call and/or consider themselves a witch.

There are no marks, tattoos, clothing, jewelry, hairstyles, secret handshakes, or other outward ways of telling a practitioner from someone who is not.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is misleading you.

There are so many variations of Witches. A witch is usually someone who practices Witchcraft.

Witches try to conceil the fact that they are a Witch. Witches are also average human beings. You cannot say if a person practices Witchcraft by looking at their behaviour, style or anything you can observe.

Someone being a Witch does not mean that they would harm you for no reason. A person with special abilities is like someone carrying a tool or a weapon. They could use it for good or bad. So, try to get along with them.

You may not think bad about an electrician who would work with electricity. They could stab someone with a screw-driver or electrify someone, but they wouldn't do such a thing for no reason. So Witches are also like that. If you don't make any big-enemy of Witches, you could maybe get help from them.

Basically, you cannot say if someone is a Witch until they tell you.

Most of the witches I know, myself included are on a Pagan spiritual path. I can only speak for myself in this as, pagans/witches all follow an individual spiritual path. Generalities are very difficult to make.

All witches are human, therefore, it is not outside possibility for a witch to be evil.

However, most practicing pagans, are intelligent, ethical and caring people. The practice of a pagan path is not necessarily a direct path to hell as many non-pagans are taught. We as a group don't generally believe in hell, the devil, or original sin... we do believe in nature, magic and our responsibility to the planet, our species, our environment, our faith, our gods, our group and ourselves.
