No! she actually brings him back out of his Sritgoi state with her spirit abilities. it momentarily weakens her and Roses bond.

yes twice. Once in spirit Bound when Dimitri's a strigoi and he's trying to kill Rose and then Eddie goes to kill him and Rose pushes Dimitri out of the way. She thinks they re might be a way to save him and return him to his Dampir form. And the second time is in last sacrifice when Dimitri goes in for one strigoi and the other come at him Rose has his back though
Yes Dimitri is made into a strigoi in the 3rd or 4th book. In the 5th book Rose finds a way to turn him back but it involves Lissa using spirit and learning to fight, which Rose isn't happy about at all. Dimitri is eventually turned back without bonding to Lissa like Rose. He doesn't quite act the same though.
In "Spirit Bound," the fifth book in the Vampire Academy series, Rose Hathaway sets out to rescue her love, Dimitri Belikov, from being a Strigoi. Along the way, she faces many challenges, including encountering a new enemy and making difficult decisions. The book also delves deeper into the dynamics of relationships among the characters.
well after rose finally becomes a guardian she runs off with lissa to free victor that bad dude lol from prison well now your saying " why the beep did she do that!" i will tell you she did it because victor suposedly has a brother that has changed a strigoi back to life. so when they get him out he calls his brother and they meet him. the brother, Robert, says to restore a strigoi you have to get a silver stake charmed with spirit and stake the strgoi with it but only a spirit user can do it. so lissa says she will do it and rose says no way!all the sudden dimitri and his strigoi buddies ambush where rose and her friends are but they get away but victor and Robert have already gotten away. but nothing can stop lissa so she secretly trains with christian her former boyfriend for how to stake a strigoi. then while lissa is vistiting her new school dimitri and his other strigoi capture her and christian to lure rose to him. rose gets almost all the guardians to form a group and go get them out. while everyone is fighting rose goes in to kill dimitri. but liass and christian push her out of the way and lissa stakes dimitri with her charmed stake and there is a great light and when rose looks she sees dimitri is a damphir again! but the only problem is dimitri has changed in the heart to he says to rose he is unable to love her anymore because of the things he did to her in russia. that slowly breaks roses heart but she is in denial. but after a conversation in church with dimitri he shatters her heart for the last time by saying " I've given up on you, love fades. Mine has" i know harsh right? well rose runs out of church and decides to move on. her current boyfriend Adrian Ivashkov visits her that night she decides her is the won for her but i think your getting the point. so the next morning rose goes to get something to eat for breakfast there she runs into dimitri but she is way to pissed off to talk to him after what he did to her. but as she is walking past dimitri's table she is stopped by dimitri's guard and they start talking. she has to be close to dimitri so she ends up talking to him. just then a group of royal guards brust in and try to take rose away. rose tries to fight back but there are too many all the sudden dimitri goes in to his old kick butt self and starts to defend rose. but rose relises that if dimitri keeps fighting it won't help people think dimitri has changed so she has to scream for dimitri to stop fighting. when he finally does the guards grab rose and say she is being charged for high treason. i know what your thinking she is getting busted for freeing victor but no! she has been convicted of killing the queen tatiana! ah! so rose goe sto court to try to defend herself but there is too much evidence against her so she has to have a trial. but i know your waiting to know what happens next but guess what that is where the book ended! fudged up right? well i hope i helped if any of you out there have anything to add please do so! bye!
Since it is much too long to write the full summary of the 5th book, or Spirit Bound, in the Vampire Academy series, here is a link to an article that has a very thorough summary of what happens in Spirit Bound: (under source and related links) The book begins with Rose taking her guardian trials, enabling her to leave St Vladimir's Academy as a qualified guardian. After passing her trials with flying colors and receiving her promise mark, Rose - along with Lissa, Christian, Adrian, Eddie and the other dhampir graduates - head to the Royal Court to begin life outside of the academy. Rose and Adrian are currently attempting a relationship after she promised him she would give him a shot after she got back from Russia in Blood Promise. However, after learning that there is a way Dimitri can be saved from being a Strigoi, Rose sets off on a mission with Lissa to break out Victor Dashkov from prison when she learns that only he can help them to find out how to turn Dimitri back into a dhampir. After successfully freeing Victor with the help of Eddie and Lissa, they head to Las Vegas to find Victor's illegitimate brother, Robert Doru. As a spirit user who supposedly turned a Strigoi back into a dhampir, Robert tells them that the only way to save Dimitri is to charm a silver stake with Spirit and stab him in the heart. However, it has to be a Spirit user who does the staking. While in Las Vegas, the gang meets up with Adrian, who has tracked Rose down via credit card records. While leaving a casino, they encounter a large group of Strigoi, lead by none other than Dimitri. Rose prevents Eddie from killing Dimitri because she knows there is a chance to save him. The gang narrowly escapes into the sun, leaving Dimitri to kill a bunch of humans and losing track of Victor and Robert in the process. Once back at the court, Rose is chastised for running off with Lissa again and her hopes of becoming Lissa's guardian diminishes further. She is punished by the guardians at court and is stopped from accompanying Lissa to her college visit to Lehigh. Instead, Lissa travels with Christian, her two appointed guardians, and Priscilla Voda, the queen's best friend. While at the visit, Christian and Lissa's assigned guardians, Serena and Grant, try to teach Lissa how to use a stake. Lissa is determined she can bring Dimitri back, so she tries to learn as much as possible about staking a Strigoi. After dinner at the college, the whole group are attacked once more by Strigoi. Lissa and Christian are kidnapped by Dimitri to be used as bait to get Rose to come to him, knowing that Rose can use their bond to find her. Rose and an army of the court's guardians head off to save Lissa and Christian and a fight erupts with the Strigoi. In the fight, Lissa attempts to stake Dimitri, with Christian's fire distracting Dimitri long enough for Lissa to get at his heart. After a number of failed attempts, she finally nails him in the heart with a stake she had finally managed to charm with Spirit's healing powers. In a blinding light Dimitri falls to the floor weeping, now a dhampir once more. Rose is hurried away from the scene and Dimitri is taken back to court where he is kept locked up. People are unsure as to how safe he is and doubt whether he is actually a dhampir again. He refuses to let Rose in to see him because of the guilt for the way he treated her when he was Strigoi. Rose is hurt by this and persistently tries to get into to see him. Eventually she gets Mikhail's help and is given access to the holding cells. Dimitri then tells Rose " I've given up on you.Love fades. Mine has." He brokenly explains that because of the time he spent as a Strigoi, he is no longer able to love or to be loved by anyone because he feels he doesn't deserve it for what he did. Rose leaves heartbroken, but not believing that things are over between them. Meanwhile, the royal council and Queen Tatiana had been debating over a mysterious subject. It turns out that they had voted to change the graduation age for Dhampirs from 18 to 16, meaning they would be sent out to fight at a younger age. This motion created many controversies and arguments. Rose doesn't stop herself from speaking her mind, threatening the queen in front of everyone and then being dragged out by guardians. Later, Adrian visits Rose in her room and she decides to really give it a go between them. Rose and Adrian very nearly sleep together until they realize they have no protection. Instead, Rose lets Adrian drink her blood. The next day, Rose bumps into Dimitri and started to talk with him in a cafe. Suddenly, the Royal Guards burst in to arrest Rose. Dimitri defends Rose, proving that he still has strong feelings for her. Before he can get into trouble, Rose stops him and leaves willingly with the guards. It turns out that Rose is being accused of murdering Queen Tatiana. She is given a hearing which will decide whether she goes to trial or not. Her father, Abe, arrives unexpectantly and declares he will be Rose's representative in court, even though he is most definitely not a lawyer. After the hearing, Rose is being escourted back to her cell, and as she does, she is handed a note from Ambrose. The note is written from Queen Tatiana herself before she died. In the note, Tatiana realizes she is in danger and gives Rose information to use in case something happens to her. She reveals that Lissa's father had an illegitimate child, meaning that Lissa might not be the last Dragomir, and with a sibling, would be able to gain a seat at the Royal Council. At the end of the book, Abe and Rose have a conversation: "They don't even send royal traitors to prison, Rose. They execute traitors.
I think that one of two things will happen. 1. Remember how all the strigoi that worked together amazed everyone. Everyone never thought that they could due to their nature and they would turn on each other. I think that strigoi are more in control than they think. They want to kill the others, but they still have some self control. I think that dimitri will have self control when it comes to rose. 2. rose mom gets reaasigned to and Eddie gets signed to lissa. Lissa, Eddie, Adrian, and christian are going to look for rose. Rose will find dimitri but will struggle emotionally to kill him. She will try to kill him near lissa so she can bring him back to life. OR rose's is tied to the dead world, and i think that will play a bigger part than people think. Maybe just maybe rose can save dimiti's soul. either way Im impatient and anxious to find out what will happen. its almost depressing that we don't know. ugh. four months and we will find out.
Okay so the conflict is basically the plot. But the conflict changes for each book in the series. So.... The plot is basically Rose, half vampire half human, (Dhampir) is the bodyguard AKA Guardian of Vasilissa Dragomir, the last one in her family. They are best friends and Vasilissa, AKA Lissa, doesn't have elemental magic like other vampires of her kind. (The Moroi) she has spirit. When Rose once died in a car crash, Lissa used spirit to bring her back, which made Rose shadow-kissed and they formed a bond, that's only one-way. Rose can pop into Lissa's head and see and feel what she is seeing and feeling at any time she wants. And because she is shadow-kissed, Rose can feel when Strigoi (undead evil vampires; immortal; she protects lissa from them) are nearby. Here are the conflicts in the following books in the series: 1st: Vampire Academy Rose and Lissa were captured after running away from their school so they can start a life of their own. When captured they get some serious punishments, and Rose needs to work on her guardian-skills since she missed classes. She has a new personal trainer, a 6'7'' hottie named Dimitri. They fall in love, but having Rose being 16 and Dimitri in his twenties, they have to keep their love a secret and at times not even be in love at all. Also Lissa is kidnapped by her uncle in the Dashkov family (Victor Dashkov) and used and abused to make him get better from his sickness by having her heal him with her spirit magic. He is later caught and sent to this horrible prison called Tarasov Prison. 2nd: Frostbite There has been a Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir's; the school/vampire academy. The students and some families are all staying at this resort, where Dimitri starts to have an affair with another woman named Tasha. Rose then starts to get attention from a royal moroi, Adrian Ivashkov, known for playing woman. But he is actually in love with her, but she doesn't like him. (Yet) Mason, a really good friend of Rose's, is in love with her too. When Rose hears about Dimitri and Tasha, she makes out with Mason. Later in the book Rose, Mason, Lissa and her boyfriend Christian, (Tasha's nephew) and their friend Eddie is kidnapped by Strigoi. Mason is later killed, and Rose keeps seeing his ghost. 3rd: Shadow-Kissed Rose and her friends are back at the academy, and Rose keeps getting visits from Mason's ghost/spirit. Later the school is attacked by a Strigoi war, and Dimitri gets turned into Strigoi. Oh, and right before the Strigoi war Dimitri and Rose have sex. :P (Kind of sucks, huh? :P ) 4th: Blood Promise When Rose turns 18, she drops out of school. Remembering when Dimitri and her were talking earlier (in the 1st book) that if ever any one of them turns Strigoi to set out and kill them, because its a life they don't want. Setting out on a mission to drive a stake through Dimitri's heart, Rose travels to Russia and meets his family, delivering the bad news. Later Rose is kidnapped by Dimitri, but not killed. Strigoi feel no love or beauty, but Dimitri was using her for sex and blood. After a while, Rose escapes and kills Dimitri. Or so she thought. At the end of the book, she gets a letter from her stating to never leave your kill without knowing its dead. 5th: Spirit Bound When Rose went to Russia to kill Dimitri, she remembers a friend of his family's saying that you can use Spirit to bring a Strigoi back to life. She goes on a quest to retrieve Victor Dashkov from prison, because he is the only one who knows where his brother Robert is. Robert is important because he is the one who knows how to bring Strigoi back to life. 6th (And Last): The Last Sacrifice I haven't finished it yet, but basically Rose is framed for murdering the queen of the Moroi court and Lissa has run for queen. She and her friends, and Rose's new boyfriend, Adrian, (:]) is trying to prove Rose's innocence as she and Strigoi-turned-back Dimitri frees Rose and has her escape prison without a chance to prove her innocence. Rose finds out that Lissa has one other relative, and to help Lissa and the rest of the Moroi world show that Lissa can be a good queen, they need to find him/her and bring them to court. Only problem is they are related to Sonya Karp, a former moroi spirit user at St. Vladimir's academy that turned Strigoi to get rid of spirit and what it does to her. She has been lost for awhile and they aren't even sure if she is still around. Her lover, her former guardian, Mikhail, is also helping prove Rose's innocence in order to bring Sonya back. Victor and Robert help Rose and Dimitri in their quest, along with an Alcheimist named Sydney that Rose met in Blood Promise. An Alcheimist is a human that knows about the Moroi/Strigoi world and helps keep them a secret. Of course, those are the main conflicts. There are always those minor conflicts in each and every book. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead should be the heir to the Twilight Saga Throne. In my oppinion, Vampire Academy is a way better book than Twilight. (That's saying something; I used to be obsessed with Twilight.) Better plot, better characters, and better writing style. ;] ;) Definitely a good read. If you haven't read it yet, you definitely should soon. :) -Anna- <3 Peace
