No. There is no such thing as vampires and the reason pumpkins are used at Halloween comes from a Irish story about a bad boy who was consigned by the devil to wonder the earth with a turnip lit with a lump of coal. When the Irish settlers came to the colonies they didn't find turnips but pumpkins so the story became Jack O' Lantern.
Orianally it was to scare away the Vampires. This is because people beleived in Vampires back then.
People say onions scare vampires , but its not that's why they originally put pumpkins on their front door step. But this is not real its what people say but its just a fake thing.
well... it's kind of decoration and it also is to scare the vampires if you believe in them.xx
Garlic that will scare them.
Vampires hate pumpkin more then garlic. They say it is the smell.
to scare people
The original reason for Halloween pumpkins was the belief that the scary face carved into the pumpkin and illuminated by a candle inside the pumpkin would scare off the creatures that would be prowling around on Halloween. Few if any people still believe that, so the practice is continued just for fun.
You can scare them with garlic, jewelry with crosses on them and crosses.
cause they stink and they are orange
there's a rumour that people use pumpkins as decorations to keep vampires away from houses during Halloween
I heard it is because of the smell, that's why they are carved and left outside of the house to keep vampires away.
