There is no 'way'. Witches aren't vampires; you don't awake or 'get turned'. To be a witch you need to research it and traditionally spend a year and a day accumulating knowledge, pulling form here and there, learning before you are dedicated into witchcraft/Wicca or self-dedicate. The year/day is so you can gather as much knowledge as you can so you actually deserve to title yourself as a witch. You don't want to get caught by a well-learned witch because you boast of being one and really you don't know what a Sabbat is, or a besom. These are just things you need to know.

You should read;

-The Element Encyclopedia of Witchcraft (Judika Illes) Wicca

-A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner (Scott Cunningham)

-The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation: Solitary Witch (Silver Ravenwolf)

A few more books to read

Anything at all by Starhawk,

Anything at all by Ray Buckland,

The Grimoire for the Green Witch by Mora.
