The answer to this question is actually surprisingly simple. Its the same as being a guy wizard or witch.

There are books in nearly every bookstore on the occult and on magic, and the while the research takes time the real challenge is and always will be belief.

To become a girl wizard you have to read up on what being a witch and/or Wizard means, I would suggest Raymond Buckland and Silver Ravenwolf. Both have very good points to what they say. (be warned, Silver has a bit of a hatred for Christians so, just ignoring those bits will probably help you loads.)

Anyways, this answers coming from a male witch.
