If you want to become a wizard in real life, then you must be asking the question from a magical or fantasy life where Wizardry, a craft, is more easily acquired as a skill. Simply ask any kindly old one-eyed hunchback dressed in rags and begging for sustenance in a dark alley where one might learn Wizard skills. He won't answer, but when you put a coin into his cup, he will press a small amulet into your palm that will guide you to an extremely old bookstore and a dusty old tome that, well, the rest plays itself out in an adventure that includes some comical mistakes, dangerous foes and a bit of romance. Eventually you will achieve the status of Wizard, or you will be dead or trapped in a bottle. If a Wizard, your next step is to simply open a portal into "real life". MAKE SURE there are two sides to the portal so you can get back. Real life is quite overrated.

A Pagan Perspective

Wizards (the real ones) belong to one of the spiritual paths that fall within the larger group called Pagan.

The wizards I know, are students of nature and magic. Most of them (like most people) are ethical, honest, people.

Being a wizard is a lifetime of work. These, people (men and women) are not the fictional wizards you might have read about, but they are very real.

Some, but not all of them even take on students, but they are few and far between. Not, that that should keep you from looking for a teacher.
