Telepathy has never been confirmed by recognized researchers. Perhaps the most persuasive argument against telepathy is that if it were real, commercial interests would certainly be using it to influence consumers, not to mention politicians and more sinister elements. If something does not exist, there is no need to block it.

Such a phenomena is usually classified as a mental illness, in particular delusions of reference seems the basis of it.

It's a common schizophrenic symptoms, but also occurs in users of cannabis. Especially those who socialise with other unemployed drug users.

Basically the individuals anxiety can create tension, anxious people are usually hyper vigilent (overly aware of their surroundings). That in itself makes people feel watched, so their behaviour may change...mostly in regards to paying some (perhaps subconcious) attention. If one were not to speak a lot they would be seeing body language.

A game that developed some time in the past is when you encounter people who are anxious and notice them react to something that has been said then you can assume they've taken it a particular way, and that allows you to have an idea of whats in their minds. Much fun and embarissment can be had at the expense of the anxious individual as you dig further and further into their subconcious exposing their fears for everyone to laugh at.

Eventually they'll get down to the individuals core and thats where things get tricky, especially because in order to work out what that person was thinking, you had to think of it too. so they've got ammo so to speak.
