A Pagan Answer
The short answer is Yes, we do. I am a long practicing witch of a family tradition that goes back generations. You will hear all sorts of answers from all sorts of folk, but to me, if I want to know if Catholics exists, I ask Catholics, not Muslims.
Witches are often misunderstood, much maligned people of an earth based belief system. We have of as many different sub-faiths as some of the other major religions so what one witch from one path says does not necessarily apply to all witches any more than what a Jehovah's Witness says applies to all Christians.
Personally, as a practicing witch, (45+ years) and a High Priestess for a Pagan circle of 25+ souls, I can tell you that we do in fact exist. And that absolutely NONE of our powers come from Satan.
Just for the record Satan is a construct of the Judeo-Christian faith and those of us outside of it don't even believe in him.
It is my honest opinion that the leading of a good, productive and caring life is much more important than who you believe the "true" god is.
I spend my time helping others, doing good for my family and friends, caring for the planet I live on and even being concerned for the welfare of strangers. I teach others, cast spells, hold rituals, celebrate the seasonal "turning of the wheel" and the phases of the moon. I garden and use herbs for healing, myself, my family and my pets, as well as those of friends and others, pagan and non-pagan alike. I scry the future, read palms, cards and tea-leaves (but not minds), cast runes, and stones, own and use a pendulum and a dark mirror. I do a little weather-witching and when you live in the country as I do, calling a little rain in a dry spell, or asking for sunshine during the harvest is not just for me, but could be considered a community service. Mostly I consider myself a good person, the fact I am a witch is between me and my gods.
I do not preach, nor do I insist mine is the ONLY way. I tell anyone who asks, that not only do I not have all of the answers...I don't even have all of the questions. Life is about learning, and helping others along the way. My own actions speak for themselves.

No. Witches never existed. In medieval times many thought there were witches doing evil things. But that was a view based on ignorance.
No one really identifies any witches in The Crucible. They do not exist. Many characters claim to see/know witches. Some of those characters include Abigail Williams, Tituba, Mercy Lewis, Ann Putnam, and Betty Parris.
yes witches are very real but the ones that have the green faces and worty noses are not real.
