How many UFO sightings have there been?

There have been so many sightings of UFOs that it is nearly impossible to calculate the exact number of UFO sightings, but there has been an increase in the sightings ever since the late nineties to early eighties. At that time technology and communication form was advancing, and the very popular and intriguing TV show called The X-Files aired.

To the best of my knowledge, aliens have never been sighted. Never has a biological being as such been seen. However, there are many, many claims of supposed sightings of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). Some of them have been proved false, while some still stand. The fact of the matter is, there is no concrete evidence to prove extra-terrestrial life, although the probability of another earth-like planet is not low.
