As far as anyone knows nobody has ever shot one. But if he is as big as eye witnesses say he is you would need a big gun.

This depends on the size of the bigfoot in question and on the type of weapon to be used.

Bigfoot reports have classed the creature anywhere from 6-8 feet tall and weighing between 400 -700 pounds, having large arms and a large chest.

To take down a creature of this size a large caliber high powered rifle would have to be used such as a 300 magnum or better a 50 cal. BMG hunting/sniper rifle. The ammo used would also be a consideration,as to hollow point, soft point, copper jacket, steel jacket, partition or other type of devistating ammo.

It would be possible to take down the creature in one shot, however due to its size 2 or 3 well placed rounds should be used after the initial take down.
