The house was a model that was filmed lying on it's back on a funnel with a hose connected to a high powered vacuum cleaner. The model of the house was constructed of balsa wood and had wires running through it, which ran through the funnel and hose. A high speed camera was then hung above the entire set up facing down, given the impression that you were looking at the model from the front. The camera was started and once it was up to speed, the high powered vacuum was switched on, and the wires pulled so the entire model collapsed into itself and was sucked into the hose.. That footage was later grafted onto the image of the actual street with the house painted out...
