If you don't wake up during a nightmare will you really die?

No you will not b'coz wen u sleep a part of brain is still active which tries to remember what u saw, heard today or a week before.. it just mixes up all the scens in ur mind n shows it to u .. it is just n autonomous responce that u wake up........

Of course not!! that just represents a shock that might be happening or something or maybe (more commenly) your mind hasn't experienced shock in a while and needs to trigger that part of the brain.

Once I had a dream where at the end I was launched out of a moving train and died... but it was an imaginary death or else I wouldn't be here to answer. As soon as I hit the ground in the dream I woke up unharmed and thinking:"what the heck?". It seems as if you die in a dream you only wake up rather than dying in real life too. People who die in their sleep probably have experienced a heart attack or similar.

No, it is just a dream, falling or not. Unless you sleepwalk and walk off the roof of a building, of course; you can from that.
