Some like to pretend otherwise, as it is more fun to pretend the reason you are not successful is that you are opposed by a huge unfightable conspiracy.

The thing that most Illuminati believers don't consider is the Illuminati were the intellectual elite, not the financially successful. Not many entertainers fit that category; entertainers strive for money, not enlightenment.
