The Loch Ness monster (Nessie) is a fictitious creature.

The few 'sightings' of it have not generated enough 'reliable' information for those who might be able to classify it to be able to do so.

Sometimes these so called "mysterious creatures" turn out to be a flick of light and shadows...

Many people believe that the loch ness monster is a plesiosaurus. They were giant marien reptiles that romed the seas during the Jurasic and cretatios piriod but they dissapered when the dinosaurs went extinct. There is a small posibilaty that a small population of these giant beasts still exists in the depths of Loch Ness.

That second answer is substantially right although the age - 5M years is wrong by a factor of 13! The dinosaurs and their marine equivalents including the plesiosaurs died out in or before the Cretaceous/Tertiary Boundary mass-extinction 65Ma. And the loch is much younger. No positive evidence for a colony of large animals in the loch has ever been found, even by recent, systematic surveys.
