These demons were once angels of God. Angels were all created as powerfull beings. When God sent these demons to the earth He allowed them to keep their angelic powers. They are still very powerfull entities.

Demons hold many connotations across a diverse playingfield of religions. Each religions puts demons in a differing place and level of importance or influence. In the Christian religion demons are viewed as a host of angels who sided with Lucifer as he fell from Heaven by rebelling against God.

These allegations are highly refuted as there is no direct biblical quotation which says Satan (hasatan in aramaic, roughly translated as "the one who accuses") fell and took a third of the host of heaven with him.

There are references (Daniel 8 and Revelations 6) to the stars (angelic beings) falling to the earth and being trampled. I think this may be a more apt passage to quote.

Demons are the masters of evils and a major enermy of God the creator, demons and God don't get along they all compete in the same way. Like you can get powers when you summon demons and also you can get powers when you ask God but the different is that demons leads you to do things which are going to regret, or others will hurt you for unlike the powers given to you by God, you always do positive things with those powers.

They already are powerful. Demons are ancient gods and goddesses workshopped by people throught the years. And when Christianity came around they called them demons.
