The screws will not detach from the plate and the plate is not removable. The plate just slides around. The drain plug and oil filter are then exposed and easily accessible. The 2004 Trailblazer takes 7 quarts of oil and uses an ACDelco PF61 or Fram PH3675 oil filter. I've read in this FAQ site some info about other filters, so I went down to the local Chevy dealer and talked to a mechanic. He told me the ACDelco PF61 was the correct filter. The Fram PH3675 is the exact same as the PF61.
