In the film "District 9," the aliens are referred to as "Prawns" due to their crustacean-like appearance. They are depicted as a stranded extraterrestrial race that has been forced to live in a slum-like area of Johannesburg, South Africa. The film explores themes of xenophobia and social segregation through their experiences.
Nope. Sorry but no.
A movie just came out called "District 9", where aliens are confined to a shanty town in Johannesberg. Its their own shanty, so not sure if that's the one. Weta did effects (of LOTR fame)
they just wanted to get back home! i thought that was a horrible movie!
diamonds, wood, and farming. and aliens if you watch district 9
Kind of. The aliens and the people of South Africa represent the apartheid that has caused the nation of South Africa a lot of problems. As you know, in District 9, the people and the prawns do not get along and live in harmony, just like black and white people decades ago when apartheid and segregation were still intact. However, the aliens you see in District 9 are entirely fictional, and no alien ship ever hovered above Johannesburg.
Prawn belong to the order Decapoda. Within that order there are ten families and many species. (and those crazeh aliens in district 9, they were called prawns too... but that wasnt the proper scientific name for them, crazeh aliens is though)
NO they are a small shrimp that lives in the sea
That was the 2009 film , title District 9
Why would they be called OJ's
District 9 is 2009 film written and directed by Neill Blomkamp. It stars Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope and David James. Years before the film is set, an alien mothership hovers above Johannesburg in South Africa, the aliens (also known as prawns) are located to a slum (called District 9). Wikus van de Merwe (Copley) is head of relocating the 'prawns' to a new camp (District 10). It was produced by Peter Jackson. It was nominated for 4 Academy Awards such as Best Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.
The Arrival and District 9 both feature aliens whose knees bend backwards, but in real life, camelids fron knees bend forward, and rear knees bend backwards
They are called Scardox Aliens.
