While there are dozens of celebrities who throw hand signs that the tin-foil hat crowd attribute to the Illuminati, only one symbol was ever associated with the Order. That was the Owl of Minerva, a symbol of wisdom, pretty common one for that matter back in the 18th century.

Where the Illuminati did exist at one time, it was driven into extinction by elements of the Catholic Church in 1785. That its existence reportedly still exists is more the result of Propaganda by two additional elements of the same organization that killed it, combined with irrational fear. Still there are those who claim to be part of the super secret cabal. However, consider that if there were a group pulling all the strings around the world whose primary means of existence was that super secrecy, the last thing they would do would be to allow that very secrecy to be broken.

It is impossible to promote or condemn what doesn't exist.
