uuhm... i think u get like really bad luck or somethin
Well, I open my umbrella in the house tons of times. They say it gives you bad luck, but I don't believe in that superstition. I open my umbrella whenever I please and I'm fine, and you should, too.
It seems to have originated somewhere in Africa or Egypt thousands of years ago. It was thought to insult the Sun Goddess if an umbella was opened while indoors.
Well 2 days ago I put a umbrella up in the house and at school I broke my finger so it is bad luck I think it's just a tradition
Some say it is but personally i do not think it is. Because I've done it before and i didn't get bad luck! :)
get an umbrella and go indoors
Opening an umbrella indoors is often considered a superstition associated with bad luck. While there's no scientific basis for this belief, some people think it may stem from the idea that it brings misfortune or invites negative energy. Practically, opening an umbrella inside can also be inconvenient, as it can take up space and potentially cause damage to furniture or decor. Overall, it's usually best to open umbrellas outside to avoid any mishaps.
Umbrellas were first used by African royalty to shield themselves from the hot rays of the sun god. To open one in the shade insulted the god. To open one indoors must have been worse, probably punishable by the god. Today, we think of it as just plain unlucky.
Umbrellas are only considered cursed or unlucky if opened indoors.
The belief that opening an umbrella indoors brings seven years of bad luck is a superstition with no basis in fact. This notion likely originated from ancient times when umbrellas were primarily used for protection against the sun, and opening one indoors was seen as disrespectful or a bad omen. While many people still adhere to this superstition today, it's largely a cultural belief rather than a proven rule.
No, there is no correlation between opening an umbrella indoors and drowning.
