In Chapter 47th of Brihad Parashara Hora Shashtra, the Hon'ble Sage Parashara stated about the different types of Avasthas (planetary conditions) of these planets of which the Lajjitadi Avashtha is one.
Under this category (Lajjitadi Avastha); there are six different types of Avasthas (conditions) of a planet, namely, Lajjita, Garvita, Kshudhita, Trashita, Mudita and Kshobhita.
A planet is said to be in Lajjit Avastha, if it is having union with Saturn or Mars. Besides this, if the planet is having union with Nodes (Rahu and Ketu) and at the same time placed in fifth house, then also the planet is considered to be in Lajjit Avastha.
The planets coming under Lajjit Avastha are not considered to be strong enough to protect and promote their significations.

Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, is one of the oldest systems of astrology, originating in ancient India. While it holds significant historical and philosophical importance, it is not necessarily the "mother of all astrology," as other ancient traditions, such as Babylonian and Egyptian astrology, also have deep roots. Each astrological system has evolved independently and has its unique methodologies and principles. Therefore, while Vedic astrology is foundational to some traditions, it is part of a broader tapestry of astrological practices worldwide.
