Cryptids are animals that are mostly based on legends rather than proof. These animals are neither proved nor disproved, although some are considered extraordinarily unlikely. Someone has seen them, or evidence of them, and often there are legends going back many years. They are not necessarily supernatural or magical like other "monsters" of legend.
Examples of cryptids are the Loch Ness monster, Bigfoot, and the Chupacabra (goat sucker). Because they lived in remote areas, both the rhinoceros and the giant squid were once considered cryptids.

No, he comes back in the episode " Cryptid vs. Cryptid"
A cryptid is a life form (animal or plant) not recognized by scientifical community. The moment a fossil of a cryptid would be found, and accepted by paleontologists, it immediatly would loose its status of a cryptid (zoologic or botanic) to became an extint species. It may also happen that a cryptid is found alive, in remote parts of the world. That rarely happen, like the cryptid «bondegezou», from the Indonesian folklore; in 2009 this cryptid was found by an expedition to the New Guinea island.Immediatly the «bondegezou» cryptid became the Dendrolagus mbaiso species, a tree living kangaroo.
If you mean a cool cryptid, I'd say Bigfoot. Bigfoot is very interesting.
