What is the meaning of a dream where you are lost?

Most parents (especially mothers) are constantly worrying about their child's safety (especially when their child is very young) and anyone that listens to the news on TV or reads a newspaper is constantly hearing about lost or missing children and therefore it puts parents that much more on the alert. Parents sigh a relief and are so thankful that wasn't their child, but it does instill fear in parents and puts them on 'high alert' without them ever realizing it. Even a movie you saw or a comment someone made could cause you to dream this. It's quite normal and the worst that can happen is you will become a little extra diligent in where your child is at all times. There is nothing wrong with that. One of my girlfriends (only had one child ... a daughter) was having a dream every single night for a week that her husband took their daughter to a dock and didn't have a life jacket on her and just as her daughter was falling over into the water she would wake up in a sweat. The dreams were so unnerving to her and made her think that this was a warning that this would actually happen to her one and only child she phoned me in tears. After talking to her for 15 minutes I asked her what she had talked to her husband about before he left to go fishing with their daughter. She said that she was always after him to be sure their daughter had a life jacket on at all times, a hat and sunscreen. The father was very safety conscious, but, any mother that is a good mother will have to admit that if they aren't 100% in control of their child's safety then they are not happy campers. It sounds like you are a very caring mother and don't worry about the dreams because you will just become more diligent about your child's safety.
