There is generally no significance to wearing a ring on the pinky finger other than a fashion statement, but, in some cases a person may wear a small ring that has sentiment on their pinky finger simply because it is too small to wear on their ring finger.
I just did a quick Google Image search on this, and while there is art showing him wearing it on his left hand, these are by far in the minority (and they appear to be fanart to boot; in all the official images I could find he's wearing it on his right hand).
