There is no evidence of such a thing. Several extremely conservative talk show hosts, including Glenn Beck, and politicians such as Michelle Bachmann, have posited the idea that Democrats and President Obama are planning to put dissenters in internment camps, but this is political rhetoric at its worst. It is false, and there is not a shred of evidence to support it.

Addendum:

This particular conspiracy theory started at least during the administration of George W. Bush. The likelihood that such a plan could have survived through the eight year administration of our last republican president, and then through the last four years of our current democratic president is laughable. Perhaps it is time to change the tinfoil hat.

Why did Canada had camps?

We had "interment camps" (as if calling them internment camps was somehow better) for people of German descent, then when Italy joined with the Nazis we started going after them, and lastly people of Japanese descent. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. FDR said it was a day that will live in infamy. On December 8, 1941, the US declares war on Japan, Germany, and Italy. Franklyn D. Why were the Japanese interment camps establish?

The American government feared that Japanese-Americans could spy for the Imperial Army, so they held them in internment camps. As to why the government feared that Japanese-Americans would spy, it came down to racism. Asians were viewed with much more suspicion and were considered a lesser race at the time. Which was completely unfounded, but it was the attitude the mostly-white US at the time. (As a note, remember that there were actually far more German- and Italian-Americans in the United States at the time, none of whom were interned in camps).
