Caesar, of course.
His friend and protegé Brutus joined the conspiracy to murder Caesar because he feared that Caesar had ambitions to become as powerful as a king (which happened to be true).
Decius persuades Caesar to attend the ceremony where he will be killed, by telling him that the Senate will make him king.
Definitely Mechagodzilla. No hesitation on that one.
King Caesar was created in 1974.
Cassius was one of the senators that Caesar forgave after the death of Pompey. Cassius saw this fault in Caesar, that was he wanted to be king. The best quote from Cassius was to Brutus in order to entice him into the conspiracy against Caesar was this one: "... a Senate half filled with Caesar's appointees would pass the "measure to give kingship to Caesar" and in doing so all hopes for the restoration of the Republic would be lost."
King Caesar House was created in 1809.
Brutus joins the conspiracy for purely altruistic reasons. He believes that Caesar is a danger to the Roman state, as the powers and status he is acquiring make him into a king in all but name. Brutus likes Caesar personally, but doesn't like the way he is taking over the government.
One conspiracy theory related to the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. is that there is a conspiracy or cover up surrounding his death. That's probably the biggest conspiracy related to this piece of history.
Caesar means KING.
Julius Caesar wasn't a king. He was a dictator. The people loved him but, he was a dictator nonetheless.
It was not that Brutus was necessary for the conspiracy, even though, along with his brother-in-law Gaius Cassius Longinus, he was its leader. It was Julius Caesar giving the impression that he wanted to become a king which was necessary. It was this which persuaded the conspirators, including Brutus, to plot against Caesar. This would have ended the Roman Republic. Moreover, the republicans equated a king with tyranny.
Julius Caesar did not want to be a "king" in the strict sense of the word. King was a nasty word to the Romans. But Caesar did want all the power, so he was satisfied with the title and powers of a dictator. The reasons for his power-grab were because of his impatience with the slow moving senate, the resistance to some of his reforms and his own ego.
