Why does the Illuminati worship the devil?

There is no solid historical evidence that witches have ever worshipped the devil. The only evidence we have is from catholic inquisitors, who believed that anyone who wasn't orthodox Catholic worshipped Satan.

There is obviously a bias here since this group also includes lapsed Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims, and every form of pagan.

The Illuminati was never about worship of any kind. It was an organization for the improvement of society in general. The Illuminati was an organization (1776-1785) of enlightened intellectuals whose goal was the overthrow of an oppressive monarchy and the control of civil authorities by the Roman Catholic Church. They were very unsuccessful in their endeavor because that monarch successfully destroyed the organization and imprisoned their leadership.

The only Illuminati that exists today is the invention of writers and bloggers who enjoy feeding the imaginations of paranoid and naive individuals.
