Why does the government deny existence of UFO's?

Because either they have no evidence they exist, or if they do, then they keep if from the public because people would freak out and riot and there would be mass panic and chaos. People can be reduced to cattle when there is a large number of them and they are all panicing.

There are several reasons: * They have uncovered ultimately powerful weaponry and want to hide the discovery from other nation so that it can be studied and used to subjugate others. * They have found a higher level of technology and are using it to slowly infiltrate other governments. * The aliens have made a deal to supply them with aforementioned technology and weapons if their presence is kept secretive. * The aliens themselves now run the governments of the world, having manipulated the originals using powerful mind control, assumption of their identity or absorption of their bodies. * They plan to ally themselves and use the aliens' power to take over the rest of the world, sharing the spoils of conquest. * The aliens have made a peace treaty; in exchange for not being bothered any more, they will be covered up and/or won't bomb us into the ground. The secret facilitates either and both. * The government has decided that what the public doesn't know can;t hurt them and denies all such proofs as a way of deflecting interest so they can either study, converse with or leave alone the aliens. * Or, and this is by far the most likely reason, no such evidence exists and there is no coverup at all.

First off, its not a fact. It cannot be proven without a doubt.

2nd, if they do exist, and assuming the government knows about it, they hide it because they believe we are dumb sheep that will freak out and jump off a cliff.

Extra terrestrials do not exist. Full Stop.

They most likely do not want to alarm the people of America.

But consider the fact that there might not even be UFOs.

Consider also this... If there were ET civilizations that had somehow managed to advance their technology beyond our understanding of quantum mechanics and the energy transformation curves that are applicable as one approaches the speed of light, curves that make it impossible for any object of any kind of measurable mass to even get close to that speed, don't you think they would also have the technology to prevent us from knowing they were here?
