Some Mormons believe that coffees and teas are prohibited due to their caffeine content and therefore do not drink sodas, energy drinks, or other Carbonated Beverages (although they still avoid decaf coffee). Others do not consume caffeine because they consider it a harmful or addicting substance. However, others see no problem with caffeine and will drink caffeinated sodas.

Some Mormons drink green tea, and some will drink any tea. Generally, most Mormons will drink herbal tea, but not other teas.
