It would seem from what you just said about having eaten a lot of fish and then having suffered from gouty Arthritis that you should try to avoid purine rich foods. Fish being at the top of the list followed by offal meats such as kidney brains liver e.t.c, Uric acid is made by the body metabolising purines which come from the nucleus of living cells, many of these come from your on body as cells are replaced and absorbed by you body. They also come from the animals and plants that you eat. You can get lists that show you the foods you should avoid and the drinks. Although the only drinks I know of are alcoholic.
