Mix 1.6 L of 180 proof ethanol with 3.4L of H2O
Fractional distillation is used to convert rectified spirit into absolute alcohol. This process involves heating the rectified spirit to separate out the different components based on their boiling points, allowing for the collection of a higher percentage of pure alcohol.
Rectified spirit typically contains about 95% ethanol and 5% water.
We can consider as solvent ethanol (96,5 %) and the solute water (3,5 %).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everclear_(alcohol) Everclear- 190 proof Actually there is an alcohol that is more potent then Everclear, it is a Polish Vodka called Polmos Spirytus Rektyfikowany (Rectified Spirit) It is 192 Proof 96% alcohol. You can't get the remaining 4% alcohol out of it as that is the limit. Nothing is higher. I have a bottle and also a few bottles of 190 Proof Everclear. BOTH are ridiculously powerful.
In the United States, the alcohol-by-volume proof measurement equates to twice the percentage of alcohol content. If a beverage contains 28% alcohol by volume, it would be considered to be 56 proof.
Because denature alcohol is unfit for drinking to maintain the miss use of alcohol for drinking purpose, if it happen than alcohol will be sold out in medical store and any body can get it so....................it will break our chemical code and conduct.
An impalpable powder., The fluid essence or pure spirit obtained by distillation., Pure spirit of wine; pure or highly rectified spirit (called also ethyl alcohol); the spirituous or intoxicating element of fermented or distilled liquors, or more loosely a liquid containing it in considerable quantity. It is extracted by simple distillation from various vegetable juices and infusions of a saccharine nature, which have undergone vinous fermentation., A class of compounds analogous to vinic alcohol in constitution. Chemically speaking, they are hydroxides of certain organic radicals; as, the radical ethyl forms common or ethyl alcohol (C2H5.OH); methyl forms methyl alcohol (CH3.OH) or wood spirit; amyl forms amyl alcohol (C5H11.OH) or fusel oil, etc.
The alcohol content of a spirit that is 40 ABV is 40.
Brandy is known as a spirit, and that comes from distilling wine. The alcohol content is around 35 - 60 percent.
The highest level spirit it is possible to brew at all is only around 96.5%. At this point the water-alcohol solution becomes azeotropic, meaning that distillation can't separate them further.
Booze.
