There are two ways of expressing "I love you" in Fijian. Both ways express different meanings and are used in different situations. 1. Au domoni iko - pronounced as Aoo dohmohnee eeko . This is Fijian for saying "I love you" as used in a romantic setting.e.g expressing love for your girlfriend/boyfriend.

2.Au lomani iko - pronounced as Aoo lohmahnee eeko. This also means "I love you" but is used as an expression of love for loved ones or fellow human beings. There are no romantic motives attached to it.This saying carries a deeper meaning than the first one stated above. It combines plutonic love and compassion for another person. This Fijian expression can be used to express love for a parent ,child, someone in need or whilst forgiving someone who did wrong against you.
