How does a dog drink water?

Hopefully from a compassionate owner. Strays drink water from street puddles (yuk), streams or ditches (yuk), or they go thirsty.

Another perspective:

The same place my dog did: his dish, our pool-when we lived where we had one, the lake out back--after we moved, the toilet if someone forgot and left the lid up, the neighbor's sprinkler, my granddaughter's Popsicles, and just about anywhere else he could.

Understand, I loved my dog more than I ever would have guessed I could, but he was a free spirit. His wandering around to get a drink was his way of exploring and meeting the neighbors. They all loved him too.

Unfilted water is just as bad for dogs as humans, and can cause serious health issues. I wouldn't let my dog drink irrigation water. Remember prevention is better than large vet bills.

if this question means that your dog is drinking tons of water then dont worry. Your dog is probably just gets dehydrated. It will go away.
