Years ago I worked for Pepsi/7-up. It's a secret recipe and it's in the vats of syrup they use. No one but the company heads know what is in that recipe. Coke use to be the leading soft drink manufacturer for years until Pepsi came along and the battle has been raging on to the present time. Pepsi also put out Mountain Dew which wasn't the biggest seller and I do believe they dropped it. Actress Joan Crawford's husband owned Pepsi and when he died she took over for awhile, but that was back in the late 1960s.

They have different formulas and ingredients in different ratios. Like like Coke is more carbonated and Pepsi is a little sweeter.
