Kool Aid is the brand name of a fruit drink.

Answer:

Kool-Aid is a powder which when combined with water and sugar, creates a fruit-tasting drink. It was originally 'Fruit Smack', a concentrated liquid drink created in the 1920's by Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Perkins. The Perkins discovered a way to remove the liquid in order to save on shipping costs by shipping just a powder. In lieu of this transition from liquid to powder, the name was changed to Kool-Ade. The name was eventually changed again because the US Government changed its regulations requiring that products with 'ADE' in the name contain fruit juice. In 1953, General Foods bought Kool-Aid. Although there are over 20 flavors of Kool-Aid currently available, the 7 original flavors were Cherry, Grape, Lemon-lime, Orange, Raspberry, Root Beer, and Stawberry.

The face of Kool-Aid is known as the 'Kool-Aid Man' who came about in 1975. He was originally called the 'Pitcher Man'
