In perfumery, the most commonly used type of alcohol is ethyl alcohol (also known as ethanol), which serves as a solvent to dissolve fragrance oils and helps in the diffusion of scent. This type of alcohol is preferred due to its ability to evaporate quickly, allowing the fragrance to be released effectively when applied.
