It is unlikely that either of the wines has any intrinsic value, in other words they are probably undrinkable. Although chenin blanc ages well I suspect this doesn't apply to chenin rose (which must have red variety in it as well. There may be some sort of interest as historical artifacts.

If you own these I suggest you get a couple of wine loving friends around and drink the wine. have a couple of more recent wines on hand in the event (very likely) that you are disappointed. They may be quite interesting, but I doubt if anyone would pay any serious money for them.

Cheers

Value of a bottle of 1988 napa valley chenin blanc?

The value of a bottle of 1988 Napa Valley Chenin Blanc can vary significantly based on factors such as the winery, condition of the bottle, and provenance. Generally, older Chenin Blancs may not command as high prices as more prominent varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay from the same region. However, if well-preserved and from a reputable producer, it could be valued anywhere from $20 to $100 or more. It's advisable to check recent auction results or consult a wine appraiser for a more accurate estimate.

What is a dry white wine from Burgundy made from the chardonnay grape?

Chenin Blanc is a white wine grape variety from the Loire Valley in France. It is used to make sparkling (champagne style) wines, as well as dry, semi-sweet and sweet wines. The most notable wine made from CB in the Loire is Vouvray. Unlike some whites it is especially suitable for aging. The variety is used in South Africa and Australia. In these latter countries it was formerly used as a high volume, low value wine. Unfortunately Chenin blanc has a poor reputation because of these practices. In Australia more wineries are now taking the variety seriously and quite a few very good wines are bening made. www.vinodiversity.com/chenin-blanc.html has more information and a list of Australian wineries using the variety.
