not sure but i think styrofoam or thermocol
A metal bowl keeps ice cream frozen the longest.
Apparantely plastic keeps ice water colder because since aluminum water bottles absorbs the cold and the plastic doesnt so pretty much it keeps colder :)
Because there is lots of air pockets, and air is an excellent insulator so it keeps the cold inside the bottle.
Closed-cell foam insulation is known to be the best at keeping water cold the longest. It has a high thermal resistance, preventing heat transfer and maintaining the temperature of the water inside for an extended period of time.
A can can store coke longer, atleast according to me.
Ice..
This is due to condensation. The cold surface of the bottle condenses the water vapor in the air (humidity) into liquid water.
When water is cooled, it shrinks. If the water is in a sealed bottle, it shrinks the bottle, too, collapsing it to some degree.
When we place a water bottle with cold water on top of a water bottle with hot water the particles in the hot water bottle rise, pushing the cool particles to the bottom. This is a type of heat transfer called convection. Basically, the hot particles in the hot water bottle rise to the cold water bottle at the top and the cool particles in the cold water bottle at the top sink to the hot water bottle at the bottom. This is one of the three heat transfers. Convection occurs in gases and liquid.
yes
To prevent your Nalgene bottle from freezing in cold temperatures, try insulating it with a bottle sleeve or wrapping it in a towel. You can also fill it with warm or hot water before heading out into the cold. Additionally, storing the bottle upside down can help prevent the water from freezing at the mouth of the bottle.
