Pomegranate martinis are always a crowd pleaser, not to sweet but that fresh fruity taste. Here is one version (it happens to be Oprah's favorite Martini too!). You'll need: * 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice * 2 ounces Absolute Citron vodka or white tequila * 1 ounce Cointreau liquor * Cup of ice * Splash of sparkling water (optional) * Squeeze of lemon (optional) Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. You can put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish. Serves 2 {recipe from Rachel Ray}
I asked a waitress one night after having this martini and she told me the ingredients. The liquor is .5 oz Kahlua, .5 oz. Bailey's, 1.0 oz. Vodka The other ingredients are gingerbread flavored syrup (which I found at Target in the coffee aisle) but I'm not sure how much to add - I think 1-2 oz. And then "ice milk" (which I was not able to find. I used gingerbread flavored coffee creamer instead) and I added an oz. or so. The rim is done in graham cracker crumbs and it is finished with spray whip cream and a Pepperidge Farm Ginger Man cookie (found in the grocery store) I remade this at home using cheaper alcohol versions like Kamora instead of Kahlua, etc. and it tasted just like Outback's!
yes black treacle is molasses.
1/2 oz. Grenadine 4 oz. Sweet & Sour 1/2 oz. Monin Watermelon Syrup 1 oz. Don Julio 1 oz. Watermelon Smirnoff
Some delicious recipes that can be made using golden syrup as a key ingredient include sticky toffee pudding, flapjacks, honeycomb candy, and gingerbread cookies.
I've been trying to get it in MI, but it looks like it is only available commercially right now. I had it in a sangria at Longhorn Steakhouse, and it was so good I forced them to give me the recipe. I substituted a mix from Monin, and it was very good. Buy 4 bottles at the Monin website and they give you free shipping and a free sangria pitcher. Sweet deal - and I tried their Blackberry syrup, which was also in the recipe - outstanding.
