Why did Coca-Cola develop?

Coke was originally invented because people back then wanted a great tasting beverage, and at the time John Pemberton "the person who invented it" had big migraines and his Dr. put him on cocaine to release the pain so he decided to start making a delicious beverage out of it to relieve other people's headaches and they loved it cause it worked (No it is not in it today)

They weren't addicted to Coca-Cola; they were addicted to the cocaine that came from the coca plant, which gives Coca-Cola its name. (Cocaine was replaced with caffeine around 1906.)
