It really depends. In about 50 years, oil will run out; in about 70 years, natural gas will run out; and in about 250 years, coal will run out. Fossil fuels are not very reliable, in the context of environmental issues. It is the main cause of global warming. In the context of how effective the electricity is produced, it isn't very effective either. Really, it is almost a philosophical question, and it would certainly be a good forum debate.
