Females are 51 per cent of the planet's human population.

When I was working with population [projection] figures for the UK a few years ago I noticed that although more boys than girls are born, by the age of around 10-14 there are roughly equal numbers of each and above that age there are more females than males (except in the Oxford area - probably due to the University).
