Thermals are more likely to set up on a sunny day because the air is warmer so that air is less dence.
They are more likely to happen on a sunny day because, the sun shines alot brighter, and the air is more dense
Solar radiation is able to reach the surface much more directly when clouds aren't in its way, and are thus able to heat the surface more than on a cloudy day.
Thermals are more likely to set up on a sunny day because the suns radiation allows the air to expand and become less dense which will lead to a Thermal.
Thermals exist because of uneven heating of the earth. Thermals form above mountains, near rivers and lakes, highways and even plowed fields where you have sun absorbing ground warmer than grass. It is more common on sunny days with cumulus clouds. This happens more in the summer.
I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that there are more sunny days than cloudy days. If I had to guess, it would probably be about 280 sunny days.
Sunny days a year in Detroit, Michigan. 185 cloudy days, 75 partly cloudy, and 105 clear days, per NOAA's 2002 data: See the link below.
because they appear when warm air rises and its water vapor condenses

Believe it or not, there is a difference. It relates to the average amount of cloud cover expected. Would you believe partly sunny means more cloud cover than partly cloudy? Can be confusing to the public...mostly sunny means more sun than partly cloudy does, while partly sunny means more clouds than partly cloudy does. Anyway, from least cloud cover to most, the scale is: sunny, mostly sunny, partly cloudy, partly sunny, mostly cloudy, cloudy. Mostly sunny means more sun than clouds, partly sunny means more clouds than sun, and partly cloudy generally means an equal amount of clouds and sun.
I would guess probably a cloudy day!
It would probably reach an area where it is sunny when the other area is cloudy
no because it need more sun light than cloud/ In cloudy conditions, the light will become a limiting factor hence the amount of oxygen produced on a sunny day will be more than on a cloudy day.
