No. It would be very bad for us if they did, ad out atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and oxygen. Nitrogen will react with oxygen, but only at high temperatures, and the process actually absorbs more energy than it gives out.

No. Fire needs oxygen to burn. Nitrogen is not reactive enough to support a reaction such as combustion.

Yes, nitrogen can burn (combust with oxygen) to release heat energy & form other compounds (nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxide, etc)

Nitrogen can and does oxidize to form various oxides of nitrogen. However, it doesn't "burn" in the same way that, say, carbon or hydrogen do.

No. Nitrogen is fairly unreactive. It does not participate in combustion. It is oxygen that supports combustion.

This is not true. It is oxygen in the air which is needed. Burning is a chemical reaction in which the fuel reacts with oxygen.
